The overall appearance of the room gives a very realistic representation of what the
tomb looked like and was very interesting to create. We not only learnt more of the
specific details about tomb paintings such as the way they traced the pictures and painted
the walls just like we did but learnt more about their burial customs, especially when we
had the burial/feast at the end. Rachel

After completing such a task as this, even though many walls, including our own remain
unfinished, the class achieved a realistic creation of TT99, complete with mummy and
funerary goods. Through such an experience, we not only learnt about how such tomb
paintings were created, but were able to take part in the experience, and by doing so, we
learnt to work as a team and to co-operate. During the months we spent recreating
Senneferi's tomb we learnt much about burial customs. The experience itself was not only
fun but worthwhile learning-wise. Helen

Reconstructing the tomb of Senneferi was a very valuable experience. We did not actually
get to fully complete our entire wall, there is a small section that has been left blank.
This was due to the time constraints that prevented us from finishing. The majority that
we did get finished looks really effective, and was well worth the effort. By drawing and
painting what the tomb would have looked like, we have been able to learn what was put
into building the tombs by the Ancient Egyptians. We have been able to gain valuable
insights into the daily life and religious customs of the Ancient Egyptians
